We contribute to the development of education through research, innovation and collaboration.

Our Approach | Artificial Intelligence (AI) | Partnerships and Projects | Apple Regional Training Centre | Working Together | Supporting Strong Schools

At Exceed Academies Trust, we are committed to exploring new approaches, developing practice and responding to emerging priorities in education. Our work in research and innovation supports schools to enhance teaching and learning and improve outcomes for pupils.

We combine evidence-informed practice, partnerships and Trust-wide collaboration to ensure that innovation is purposeful, effective and grounded in the needs of our schools and communities.

Our Approach

Our approach to research and innovation is rooted in strong professional practice and collaboration.

We support schools and staff to engage with research, trial new approaches and reflect on their impact, ensuring that innovation strengthens teaching and learning rather than adding unnecessary complexity.

This work is closely aligned with our wider approach to professional development and school improvement.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

We are actively exploring the use of artificial intelligence in education to support teaching, learning and wider school operations.

Through structured programmes and collaborative working groups, staff are supported to develop their understanding of AI and explore how it can be used safely and effectively in schools.

This work supports the development of innovative practice while maintaining a clear focus on improving outcomes for pupils.

Partnerships and Projects

Our research and innovation work is supported through a range of partnerships and projects at both regional and national level.

This includes collaboration with organisations, networks and sector partners to explore new approaches and share effective practice.

Through these partnerships, we ensure that our work remains outward-facing and contributes to the wider education system.

Apple Regional Training Centre

Through our Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC), we support educators to develop their use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Working in partnership with Apple and led by Holybrook Primary School, the RTC provides opportunities for educators to build confidence and explore effective practice in the use of digital tools.

This work reflects our commitment to innovation that is grounded in strong pedagogy and practical application.

Working Together

Research and innovation at Exceed is built on collaboration. Through networks, working groups and partnerships, staff across the Trust work together to explore new ideas, share expertise and refine practice.

This ensures that innovation is informed by real-world experience and contributes meaningfully to school improvement.

Supporting Strong Schools

Our research and innovation work supports schools to respond to change, develop new approaches and strengthen teaching and learning over time.

By linking innovation with professional development and school improvement, we ensure that new ideas are implemented effectively and have a lasting impact.
