Inclusion and Provision

We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of need or background, receives a high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed.

Across Exceed Academies Trust, our schools provide inclusive, ambitious and supportive environments. We work to ensure that all learners, including those with additional needs, are supported effectively and can thrive both academically and personally.

Our expertise spans mainstream, alternative provision and specialist settings. This breadth enables us to respond to the needs of our communities and provide appropriate pathways for all learners.

Inclusive Practice

Inclusion is central to our approach. We ensure that:

  • All learners are supported to access a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Individual needs are identified early and supported effectively
  • High expectations are maintained for every pupil
  • Strong relationships underpin all aspects of school life

Our schools work together to share expertise and strengthen inclusive practice across the Trust.

Resourced Provision

Our resourced provision forms an important part of our inclusive offer, enabling pupils with additional needs to be educated within mainstream settings while receiving targeted support.

We currently provide resourced provision across a number of our schools, including Holybrook Primary School, Cottingley Village Primary School, Horton Park Primary School, and Appleton Academy.

These provisions support pupils with a range of additional needs within structured and supportive environments. They are designed to provide specialist support while maintaining strong links to mainstream education.

Through this approach, pupils benefit from inclusive environments, high expectations and access to the wider life of the school, supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

Alternative Provision

Our alternative provision supports pupils who require a different approach to succeed. Through structured, supportive environments, we help pupils to re-engage with education and make positive progress.

Our focus is on strong relationships, clear expectations and building confidence, ensuring that pupils are supported to achieve their potential.

Specialist Provision

We are proud of our specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This work reflects our commitment to supporting some of the most vulnerable learners in our communities.

Across all specialist settings, our focus remains consistent: high expectations, strong support and a commitment to improving life chances.

Working Together

Across the Trust, our schools collaborate to support inclusion at every level. By sharing expertise and working together, we ensure that provision continues to strengthen and meet the needs of all learners.

Our approach ensures that pupils are supported to access mainstream learning where appropriate, while receiving the targeted support they need.
