About this Course

The session explores the key challenges learners using EAL may face when learning English while also learning through English across the curriculum. It provides clear, practical guidance to help teaching assistants confidently support pupils in both language development and classroom learning.

Aims

• To increase understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by learners using EAL
• To develop confidence in supporting pupils who are learning English alongside curriculum content
• To introduce practical strategies that promote language development across KS1 and KS2
• To strengthen inclusive classroom practice and improve pupil outcomes
